Senior Leader Programme 2020-2021 (Cross-Phase)

Our Senior Leader programme is designed to meet the needs of colleagues who are considering a future move into senior leadership, as well as those new to post, with the aim of developing the necessary knowledge and understanding of the key roles and responsibilities required to become an effective Senior Leader.

The programme will help delegates to:

  • Build and develop the necessary skills required in a Senior Leader role
  • Consider, reflect on and understand whole-school issues
  • Begin to think about the wider life of the school and the importance of building an ethos that underpins the school’s aims and objectives
  • Understand the impact of excellent teaching and learning in order to improve standards – i.e. to secure the best possible educational outcomes
  • Reflect on how to close attainment gaps, support the most disadvantaged students and thus raise attainment for all

What the programme involves:

  • A series of twilight sessions (including two half-day sessions) focusing on the key priorities, knowledge and abilities that Senior Leaders require
  • Well-established and highly rated sessions, delivered by knowledgeable and extremely competent practising Senior Leaders
  • Opportunities to engage in professional dialogue with colleagues from other schools and phases in order to develop insight and skills
  • Our Senior Leader Programme covers a wide range of content that has been selected for its suitability to help those seeking to develop their career within this area, or those who have been recently appointed into a Senior Leader post. Sessions therefore include:
  1. Resonant leadership / Managing performance (4th February 2021, 1-6pm)
  2. Navigating the School Led System (1st March 2021, 4.30-6.30pm)
  3. Improving standards of teaching and learning (23rd March 2021, 4.30-6.30pm)
  4. Closing the gap and raising attainment (23rd April 2021, 9.30-12.30pm)
